Celebrating Birthdays or Other Holidays
-
We have 8 students in our class. If your child would like to bring treats to share on their birthday or other holiday, they must be individually wrapped and pre-packaged from the store (rice crispy treats, small bags of chips, Hostess, etc.). Please do not send cupcakes, as they are not allowed per school policy. Birthday party invitations can only be passed out at school if you are inviting the whole class (or all the girls/all the boys). If you are only inviting a select few students, please deliver the invitations another way. Thank you!

Homework
Please try to read for at least 20 minutes per night with your child.
Most weeks, I will send home a copy of the book we are reading in class, so students can practice reading at home. Your child will also have spelling homework from Monday-Thursday. Reading comprehension and spelling tests are given on Fridays. Any homework will be labeled as homework and in the "Right back to school" side of the take-home folder, along with any paperwork requiring your attention (field trip forms, for example) that should be sent back to school.
Please spend a total of 90 minutes a week on Lexia and Dreambox (30 minutes each). Our school office has iPads available to loan out to families. Please contact me if you would like more information about borrowing an iPad.
