Thank you to those who attended registration yesterday....it was wonderful to see your faces! If you were not able to make it, please call the main office at (708) 597-1550 to schedule an appointment to come in to register your child.
As of today, Hamlin will be offering the hybrid model for our students. Students with the last name A-L will be in Group A. Students with the last name M-Z will be in Group B. You can find the schedule below.
Currently, we have a little over 100 students in each group, and this will allow us to keep class sizes between 7 and 15 students. With these numbers, we can ensure that social distancing is practiced properly during in-person instruction. Our school day will also be shortened by one hour (8:00am to 1:30pm) in order to provide our custodial staff with enough time to deep clean and sanitize the building and classrooms every night. Many other precautions are being taken to keep students and staff healthy and safe can be found in the HUGC COVID protocol sheet attached.
If you would prefer to keep your child on full remote learning, your child will still be put in group A or B; however, they will watch the lessons via Google Meet (either live or pre-recorded) on the days they would’ve attended in-person based upon their last name. These videos will be accessed through your child’s Google classroom accounts. As a reminder, they will login with their "ahsd125.org" email address and their password is "google followed by the month and day of your child's birthday". Students in District 125 have the same Google login and password the entire time they attend District 125, so the students should have this memorized.
Example for 8th-grade student John Smith:
John Smith's login: email@example.com (Year of Graduation for John is 2021)
John Smith's password: google0408 (Birthday is April 8th)
Please indicate your e-Learning selection HERE by August 12th if you haven't already done so.
It is important to note that our plan is subject to change pursuant to updated public health guidance and changing public health conditions. While we want nothing more than to return to traditional schooling, we must also be proactive and prepare for a return to remote instruction in the event of a resurgence of the virus or a second wave in the fall.

NOTE FROM MRS. KEY:
District 125 Families,
You have likely just heard the governor's announcement to close Illinois schools for the remainder of the school year. We realize that this may bring about feelings of worry, sadness, and frustration for you and your children. This is certainly not the news we had hoped for, but we support the decision to prioritize the health and safety of our school community. Atwood Heights School District 125 will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.
We want to assure you that e-Learning will continue for the remainder of the school year. Remote learning has been a new and challenging experience and we sincerely thank you for your partnership during this time of great uncertainty. However, we would like to stress that your child’s well-being is our first priority. Should you be in need of additional resources or emotional support please contact your building principals.
As a reminder, we have lunch boxes available for pickup on Tuesdays between 8:30am - 10:30am (Meadow Lane) and 12:30pm - 4:00pm (Lawn Manor) for the families that have signed up. If you would like to be added to this list, feel free to email or call your building principal to get added on. Some additional resources include the following but please call before you go:
In the weeks ahead, we will look for meaningful ways to celebrate the achievements of the graduating Class of 2020 as well as bring closure to the school year for all of our students and families. Additional updates will be sent to you via TeacherEase, robocalls and our District website. Further details about pick up and drop off of locker contents, school supplies, instruments,...etc, will be communicated in the near future. Please continue to take the precautions given by the CDC and IDPH to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep your families safe.
