A Note From Principal Gallagher
Welcome to the Hamlin Upper Grade Center Principal's page. One of my goals is to provide resources to the stakeholders that make our school a great place to learn and work!
Hamlin Upper Grade Center is the attendance center for all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in Atwood Heights School District. There are approximately 185 students enrolled for the 2024-25 school year. Our teachers are creative, innovative, and dedicated. Parents in our community provide tremendous support.
Our priority is to provide a high-quality education to each student, which is reflected in our mission statement. Hamlin Upper Grade Center is a community of students, parents, and staff whose purpose is to create an environment to assist adolescents in the transition from dependency to independent behavior. It will provide a balance of nurturing support and direction to enable the students to cope with the complex emotional, physical, social, and academic changes specific to their developmental needs.
Hamlin’s environment will encourage students to increase academic competencies and skills, discover their own self-worth and potential, and respect the individual rights and values of others. The goal of the entire Hamlin community is to prepare students to function in today's socially and technologically challenging world.
There are many activities available to the students at Hamlin Upper Grade Center. Here is just a sampling of what we offer:
- Band

- Scholastic Bowl
