Math

Grades:

Grades are determined on a cumulative basis over the trimester.  Points are earned for completed homework, test scores, class participation, group work and preparedness. All completed work should be kept in your math folder. Grade breakdown is as follows:

Test/Quiz 50%, Investigations/Classwork 30%, Homework 15%, and Binders 5%.

 Homework: 

Working at home is necessary to reinforce a concept.  This is an important part of the learning process.  Expect homework up to 4 nights a week.

Social Studies

Homework

The students will receive homework whenever necessary.  Their homework will take approximately 15-20 minutes.  Homework will range anywhere from 5-15 points.  Quizzes will be given based on homework and they will range from 15-20 points.  Tests will be given at the end of each Chapter to show mastery of each concept and will range from 25-35 points.

Grading Policy Updates:

Homework must be completed within one week after the assignment is given, otherwise it is an "F."  Re-do's are allowed on homework and the highest grade earned for a re-do is a "B-."  A maximum of one test and one quiz may be re-done per trimester.  The highest score prevails, thus it is NOT averaged.  The test or quiz "re-do" must be taken within a week of the original date given.
