Preschool Screening
-
Atwood Heights District 125 provides screening for preschool children ages 3-5. The purpose of the screening is to identify all age 3-5 year old children who might have developmental delays and who would:
1. benefit from special education prior to the beginning of kindergarten and
2. identify children who might be at risk for school failure due to environmental, cultural, or socio-economic factors
The screening looks at development in the following areas: speech and language, motor skills, cognitive skills, behavior, and vision and hearing.
Appointments can also be made throughout the school year, if you have concerns with your child's development, by calling Lawn Manor at (708) 423-3078.
Preschool Screenings take approximately ninety minutes and are held at Lawn Manor Primary Center. Parents are required to attend with their child.
