CDC Teen Dating Violence
An Illinois law aimed at preventing unhealthy dating relationships requires upper-elementary, middle schools, and high schools to incorporate age-appropriate education about teen dating violence into their curriculum. As a result, our junior high will be teaching students the signs and symptoms of an unhealthy relationship, how to respond, and who to notify. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that one in eleven adolescents says they have been the victim of physical dating violence. For more information visit the CDC page for Parents linked here. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the building principal or school counselor.
